Nutrition & Fat-Burning Strategy

Strong nutrition habits make HYPOXI far more effective — you can’t out-train a poor diet. Certified studios encourage sensible eating habits to support fat burning, including:

  • Eating balanced meals rich in nutrients and low in refined sugars and excess fats.

  • Hydrating well (aiming for around 1.5–2 L of water per day).

  • Avoiding food for approximately 1 hr before a HYPOXI session and for around 2 hrs afterwards so your body enters a “fat-burning mode” and isn’t working on digesting a meal.

  • Planning low-carb, nutrient-dense meals after your HYPOXI session to sustain results.

HYPOXI Tip: The 2-hour post-session window is optional but can help maximise fat-burning. Water and hydration are encouraged during this time.

Do You Still Need Other Exercise?

HYPOXI focuses on low-impact training that supports fat loss and targeted body shaping. For best results, other forms of intense training aren’t recommended immediately before or after HYPOXI sessions — this helps ensure your body stays in the ideal metabolic window for fat burning.

If you do incorporate other training programs (like strength training or Zone 2 cardio), your HYPOXI Coach can help you plan them around your sessions for optimal results.

Note: Zone 2 training (steady, moderate-intensity cardio) can be a great complement to a fat-loss program but isn’t part of the core HYPOXI method and requires considerably longer duration and heart-rate monitoring to be most effective — typically 45–60 min per session outside of HYPOXI.

  • HYPOXI focuses on fat loss in stubborn areas like the tummy, hips, and thighs. You may also see generalised fat loss with a healthy lifestyle.

  • Pregnancy training is not recommended but many clients return to HYPOXI after birth once their healthcare professional gives the go-ahead.

  • Sessions are low-impact and gentle — traditional “heavy sweat” isn’t necessary for HYPOXI to work.

  • Good nutrition accelerates results. HYPOXI sessions are performed on an empty stomach, and it’s recommended to avoid eating for approximately two hours after training. This allows the body to remain in a fat-burning state and use stored fat as fuel, supporting better centimetre loss and overall results.

  • It’s best to avoid intense cardio on the same day. HYPOXI sessions alone can be enough to trigger fat burning when combined with good food habits.
